god help her…

I NEVER do this, but sometimes the lyrics (and music) of a musician just strike me with such depth and clarity, that I’m just amazed. Andy Davis has done it again… what he’s written here is the exact reason I know I am called to youth ministry and specifically, young women.

Fine China
by Andy Davis

Fine China, get thrown in the kitchen get at a 1000 miles
there’s a teenager wishes she was outta high school
so sick and tired of being out side of every circle she’s never known
no she never flaunts it, but, she is the envy of the debutants and
aint known she could get what ever she wants
whos to say that this is our would, pay no attention to the new girl

i say, god help her
god help her
god help her
to get through, get through, get
god help her
god help her
god help her
to get through, get through, get through, get through, get through

Momma cries, and she wonders if she should go and hide the knives
and she knocks on the door there on the otherside
little baby had another bad day, hello Can I come in, no go away
so a hope hits her face opens the journal and fills the pages
so much older than the girls her again and wants out of her cage
hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on

god help her
god help her
god help her
to get through, get through, get
god help her
god help her
god help her
to get through, get through, get through, get through, get through

yeah let her not be overwhelmed, let her make it through this hell (x2)
hang on just a little bit longer, hang on just a little bit

yeah, that’s not even the music to it… amazing, just amazing…
